The Grand Canal

The longest Canal in the world running from Beijing to Hangzhou on an epic journey of 1,776KM in total runs through the city of Suzhou. The importance of this canal in the history of China has been incredible and it's a must see when visiting or living in Suzhou.

The best way to visit The Grand Canal is by cruise. There are evening cruises available, and visitors can buy tickets at the port beside Renmin Bridge. The price is 35 yuan per person, and the cruise lasts for about 80 minutes. Bring mosquito repellant in summer.
